The Hunt -vampire fiction- 4Griet led River on until they reached a door in a lonely corridor where she pulled out a key. “He ordered me to prepare his rooms for you,” she explained as she unlocked the door. They entered a small, circular room. A lantern hung from the ceiling and the flame in it flickered. There had to be some sort of air circulation in these rooms and tunnels. To River’s left there was a second door, directly in front of him was a curtain.

Griet shut the entrance door behind them. She smiled at River. “I know, all this must be a shock for you, but believe me – it’ll all be well in the end.”

River smirked darkly.

Harsh and cold is everything out there.
They joke, they laugh – strange grimaces.
A mountain of snow inside you
suffocates the flame of your soul.
Only seldom this weak flame achieves,
renewed by the fire of rage,
to melt a tear from the glacier of dullness.
Yet, all to soon there comes an even grander avalanche
to burry everything under it.

No escape anymore.

Leather journal 'Hummingbird'by ~Elescave

Artisan Crafts / Folding & Papercraft / Bookbinding & Bookmaking

A6, 180 pages, 90gsm

This book is made from vegetable tanned leather that is very soft to the touch. I have carved a motif of a (slightly imaginary) hummingbird into it, which I subsequently coloured with purple, blue, pink and yellow acrylic paint before sealing it with leather finish. Inside, the cover is clad in auburn felt.

This lovely cover holds 180 pages in A6 format (counted like conventional book pages). These have been hand-dyed by me with purple (72 pages), pink (72 pages), and coffee (36 pages).
